I haven’t written for a few days and rightly so. I had exams and, the defeat we suffered at the hands of Manchester United and the ‘piano man’, knocked all the air out of me.

He even scored a goal. That felt like salting an open wound.

Moving on, it has come to my notice that we have no defence. Please, don’t tell me that Shkodran Mustafi makes up a defence, or, Lichsteiner who, on a good day should be typing out his farewell retirement letter.

And, no offence but, did Manchester United intentionally jinx our most important defenders? I’m originally from Africa so forgive me in advance if it irks you when I bring up the supernatural.

But again, I ask: Why?

Why wasn’t it Petr Cech, or the leaving Aaron Ramsey that got injured? Why wasn’t it someone from off the bench? Why wasn’t it any of Manchester United’s players?

Why wasn’t it Alexis? 🤨

Yes, why?

At the moment we have Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis, Rob Holding and Bellerin injured. Our defence is thin. Mavropanos and Monreal are available, but I’m sure there’s a reason both haven’t been in Unai’s plans for a while.

Manchester also played the psychological card by putting the piano man on that pitch. Darn! The players knew all too well what he was capable of on a good day. Not long after he put one in the net, another followed.

To be fair, Manchester United are playing like they’ve been injected with new life. We did that for a while as well when we went 21 games unbeaten. But this is crunch time. We need to replicate that form if we’re to finish this season with something; with anything.
