He’s BACK!
THEY’RE BACK!
Well, so it seems anyway. We beat Leicester to notch up a much needed victory going into what is sure to be a pivotal week. We play Olympiacos tomorrow and then we welcome league leaders (gags) Manchester United. That’s a game we need to win and I think it’s safe to say that a loss could well wipe off any title challenge we could be hoping for. We are lucky that no team has run away with the lead at the moment, due to that we have a chance to have a crack at a title challenge. For a while it looked like Man City would run away with it, but two consecutive league defeats including a truly hilarious one to Tottenham.
Now I hate Tottenham with all my heart (even though I like Son a lot) but you can’t say that that wasn’t funny. Anyhoo, what it means is that Man city aren’t invincible anymore and they can be defeated and everyone knows that. Chelsea are doing their thing over at 15th place and Liverpool are well….Liverpool.
so if there was ever a time for our forwards to suddenly start firing it was Saturday as we went to visit a Leicester that were the only unbeaten side in the league (LOL) till Alexis happened. Going into the game I remember thinking that i’d really really love to see goals from Alexis and Walcott. In my mind I hoped that one goal from Alexis was going to be okay,
BUT
Alexis heard me and said “Amigo, I will do one better, no, two better and score my first hat trick for the club” and friends, he did
In the most stylish way possible and with each goal you could almost literally see the power coursing through him. I swear it was like one of the numerous anime I watch were the protagonist gets his powers back or when he levels up or for a more familiar reference, it’s like Popeye got some spinach. He was suddenly unstoppable. Then Walcott scored and even Giroud. It was more than I hoped for and I was truly happy.
I had always maintained that it was a matter of when for Alexis and he duly delivered and having our most potent attacking threat back to scoring goals, it was a lovely response to the loss against the Chavs. It was also a lovely performance by the team as a whole, I just want to honourably mention them.
So we play Olympiacos and then Man U and i’m not so scared anymore. It was a shame we lost the Flams to injury, hopefully he’s back soon, we also have Coquelin to come back, it’s hoped he’s back by the weekend and if he is, I would feel so much better about the coming game.
If we can win both games, we can seriously look at ourselves as challengers and it’ll do a lot for the belief of the team. If we lose, well…I don’t think I need to elaborate.
In the meantime, I just want to enjoy this…till tomorrow at least.
Till then
