*starts script*
It’s 4:30pm on the 6th of March, 2016.
Picture Arsene Wenger in his house, watching the Man-U game and thinking to himself “We could have won these guys easily but we messed up”
Still in his thoughts “speaking of wins, when last did we win a game?”
“oh wow, we haven’t won since Vals day, I really have to do something about this”
“We play Hull on Tuesday and we really have to win that game or else we’ll be going 6 games without a win for the first time since December 1998”.
*fast forward the next day and Wenger goes to visit Sat Guru Maharajah at Lagos-Ibadan expressway* That’s a sorcerer in Nigeria by the way.
Wenger “Mr Guru Maharajah, good afternoon, I need your help”
Guru Maharajah “Good afternoon my child, how may I be of help to you”
Wenger “Mr Guru, my team are on the verge of going 6 games without a win, all I ask is that you help my team to win. Make our opponents confused”
Guru Maharajah *does that evil laugh* “My son, I can do this for you but on the condition that some of your players would get injured”
Wenger “That’s not a problem sir, Flamini, Matt Macey and Chris Willock will be okay with me”
Guru Maharajah *does that evil laugh again* “The oracle will decide who to get injured on that day”
Wenger “Okay then, as long as we win”
*Fast forward to match-day*
We win, Giroud scores after 11 games and so does Walcott, they both get 2 goals.
Everybody is happy we have won but at what cost?? we lost 3 players to injury
Per, Gabriel and Ramsey, the last of which I think could have been avoided because seeing as he was being rested, Wenger could easily have just brought Jeff Adelaide on at the point he brought Ramsey on.
In the end, he still had to do same.
We wasted all on our subs as all the changes made were due to injuries.
Who would have thought you’ll ever see a back 4 of Flamini at right back, Monreal- Chambers at central back and Gibbs at left back.
What a time to be alive people!
Over to the real post now.
Allow me to start with congratulating Giroud on the birth of his son. Man hadn’t scored for 11 games, he gets a son and suddenly scores 2 in 1 game. I hope this form continues tho.
That’s 20 goals in all competitions for the man this season, imagine if he didn’t have all those 6-7 game droughts he always has. Man could have been on like 27 by now.
Another man that found the net today was the mighty Theo. I call him mighty because tbh he was shit in that game and has been so for most of the season but he still managed to bag 2 goals.
I applaud you sir.
So we have finally won a game, after 5 tries without any success. Amazing how this winless run started with Hull and ended with them.
With this win, we move into the 6th round of the FA Cup and face Watford this Sunday.
I hope this win puts us back on that winning path.
Also, I hope those injuries picked up tonight turn out to be very minor as we need all the personnel we can have right now in this final lap of the season.
Get well soon Per, Rambo, Gabriel, Santi, Wilshere, Cech, OX, Arteta, Rosicky and Koscielny.
We miss you and wish y’all are back in the team sooner rather than later.
Do have a nice day people.
Ciao.
