The one who shouldn’t have gotten away in my opinion.
Serge Gnabry.
He left Arsenal on loan to West Bromwich and then got sold to Weder Bremen and then got poached by Bayern Munich who later loaned him out to Hoffenheim…
I know… Breathe.
We should have kept him and sold him for £30m this season, seriously. Have you seen the money clubs pay for these kids these days?! We’d probably have loaned out Iwobi if Serge was still on our books.
Reports say that Serge has been loaned out till June 2018, and I think it’s because Bayern needs him to get first team football. What, with James Rodriguez there at Bayern Munich, the kid’s going to roast on the bench.
A statement on Bayern’s official website said:
“Serge Gnabry is moving from Bayern Munich to fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan with immediate effect. The 22-year-old, who played for Werder Bremen last season and signed a three-year deal at Bayern in June, is being loaned out to the Europa League participants for one year until 30 June 2018…
“On behalf of the club, I wish Serge Gnabry all the best in Hoffenheim and also thank Hoffenheim for the earnest and constructive discussions which led to this agreement.” – Sky Sports.
On a personal note, the Bayern officials make it seem like it’s a final goodbye in their statement. Just saying.
