Hello! Ni hao! Konichiwa! Bonjour! E kaaro!
All greetings I promise you, i’m not casting a spell or anything. So the interlull is over and that means that– ARSENAL ARE BACK!
Yes I’ve been a bit (a lot) disillusioned but I think the interlull sort of put me in a frame of mind. I don’t think we’ll win the league, but I as sure as hell would love to see us try. We play Watford and this week Monreal talked about revenge against the team that knocked us out of the FA cup.
“We’re coming off the back of two really good performances, the most recent of which we won. We know it’s going to be difficult against Watford because we only played them recently and they knocked us out of the FA Cup, but we’re hungry for revenge.
“It’s a completely different competition. They’re not fighting for big things so we need to show that we are. We need to show we’re the home side and that we want to keep fighting for the league title. That’s what we’re going to do.”
We need to show that we are. He got that bang on. We need to show that we want to hunt down our opponents. It’s all about psychology now. If we play like we’re imperious, there’s a minute (i’m serious, it’s mighty small) that this could unsettle title rivals. There are only eight games left and Leicester aren’t playing like they’re going to drop an eight point lead, but you never know.
We on the other hand need to keep winning and winning and winning. We have the players back from international duty, no one is injured that we know of, we should have Petr Cech back for the game and even if it’s Ospina, he’s shown that he is capable of helping out.
We have a midfield that just might be finding some sort of rhythm and a front three that are showing some inventiveness and guile. Let’s do what we can and as fans, let’s cheer and scream and sing and support till the very end. We have a whole summer to moan and whine, we can call for the manager’s head and write all the death threats we want over the summer, but right now, we need to get behind our team and support them to the hilt.
The season isn’t over yet. Maybe it’s too much anime and i’m used to seeing protagonists in absolutely hopeless situations and the somehow, just somehow, turn it around. It’s the same eyes i’m using to look at Arsenal, we just gotta try till the end.
Right! I’ve played cheerleader, it’s up to the team to lift the fans and make us believe, even if it all ends with us just off the top spot, lets at least give it a right old go.
I’ve said my bit, i’ll watch the game tomorrow and hope for the best and hope that if we win it worries Leicester enough to fumble against Southampton and that Liverpool absolutely destroy Spurs.
We’ll see.
Till later.
