Morning all and quick one for you today as there really is nothing going on.
Alexis Sanchez played 90 minutes for Chile in their game against Columbia in the 1-1 last night. Arturo Vidal scored for Chile and James Rogriguez got the equaliser. From what I’ve heard Alexis was quite jaded and after Jorge Sampoli had said that he would be cautious over Alexis. Not saying I believed him for a second but I did hope that just maybe. He will most likely play the full game on Tuesday. You wonder what Arsene will do about that, rest him against West Brom or something or just hope he finds a second wind or something. We wouldn’t want him to get injured as that would not be ideal at all.
Speaking about injured players, Danny Welbeck has said he can’t wait to get back to playing. Speaking about his rehabilitation, he says:
“It’s slow and steady but it’s coming along. It’s difficult to see the lads when you’re still in the gym, doing double days, but once I get back out on the pitch and start running I will be much happier. It’s a difficult period for me but I’m looking forward to coming back strong.”
He certainly seems to be working hard on his return. He continues:
“I want to get back out on the pitch, keep on improving, keep training and keep fit – that’s the main thing. I just want to get back to playing football.
“I’m trying to build to muscle and it’s hard, but it’s something that I’ve grasped with two hands and I’m really looking forward to my return.”
We all look forward to his return as he would give us yet another option in attack. If we are still challenging for the title come January, then he could well push us towards something great.
Back to the manager. The FA seem to be quite interested in some of his comments made in an interview with the French publication L’equipe where he says he suspects some teams of doping. You can read more on that here. I feel the man just made statements from his viewpoint, he didn’t point fingers or name names. Maybe all they want is to inquire, but knowing the FA it is understandable to be paranoid as they could just wake up one morning and slam Arsene with a fine citing that he has defamed the game or something– The FA are dodgy like that.
Beyond that, there’s nothing much going on and that’s fine. Here’s hoping that the players at home can at least get some rest and be ready when we travel over to the midlands to face West Brom.
Till then
