According to Express, Kylian Mbappe had a three-hour meeting with Arsene, where Le Boss told him he could come to Arsenal and emulate Thierry Henry.
Now, the last part is a little bit tricky…
Is he to emulate Theirry Henry as per becoming the highest goalscorer or becoming the highest goalscorer at some point and then making a fuss to join Barcelona? Which one?
I’m digging up old wounds.
Arsene Wenger has been quite open about our interest in the 18-year-old but has also let it be known that the lad has the world at his feet and can pick and choose from the plethora of clubs after his signature.
It is rumoured that Arsenal FC has had an £87m bid turned down and have been told to stump up the bid to £130m if we want the wonder kid.
I don’t think the kid is worth that much. And another thing with kids who peak early is that they fizzle out real quick as well. Messi, Ronaldo, Greizman were exceptional talent but didn’t start their goal haul until their early twenties.
Buying Kylian for that amount is a huge risk and isn’t something we should take for a player who has proved himself in only one season. We don’t want a Fernando Torres situation, and even he was a proven goal scorer.
