Arsene has said he’s in the market for “one or two” and we all know that sometimes that means fuck all, but on the other hand it would be madness if Arsene didn’t bring someone in….
Wait, didn’t we say it would be madness not to get a defender in the summer?

Anyway, it seems Arsene will indeed bring in ‘One or Two’ now even if we’re being optimistic it’s almost certain that it will be just one player…i mean, i love and respect Arsene and all, but let’s be realistic, that’s what he’s gonna do
So if we did have the choice between getting a DM (not Beilik please) and a Defender, which would you go for?
I mean we all know that having Coq has been great and he’s some sort of stop gap measure. He’s had a couple of good games in the position, but i won’t want to suddenly see him as the messiah who will save our season, we certainly need an upgrade in that department
And how about Kos’ dodgy tendon? It’s scary, we have to manage him game by game and it doesn’t help that Mert’s form this season has left a lot to be desired and Chambers has already played way too much. So it’s imperative to get someone in there
Truth is a case can be made for each position. What if we got a William Carvalho and didn’t get a defender in? Could he perhaps make it look like we’re not in trouble? Or what if we got a Hummels like defender and let Coq continue his job? Would that improve our chances?
There are roughly two weeks left in the transfer window and we all have our fingers crossed. Let’s hope it’s all for the best
