Hello everyone.
Happy Friday to you all, hope it’s been a good week for all and sundry so far.
I looked at the training pictures yesterday and I must say I have never been happier to see a set of training pictures as I was when I saw those. It was just really, really nice to see. There was Alexis, Ӧzil, Elneny, Rosicky annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd COQUELIN!
I was smiling so hard my face hurt. Arsene said at the press conference:
“Compared to last week we have no big problems from the squad that was available to face Stoke. The good news is that Ozil will certainly be available. For Alexis the next few days will be decisive but I think this time he will make it to be available for selection
Coquelin is back in full training today and he is ahead of schedule. He has still a few steps to go through. Welbeck will be in full training next week so that is positive news. It is possible Rosicky will play in the under-21 game [on Friday]. He was a bit sick at the beginning of the week but we planned for him to play tomorrow night. We have a few players coming back because we go into a very important period now for us.”
(all quotes via arsenal.com) you can just imagine that at least one of them will be available for Sunday’s game against the Chavs. It was nice to see Elneny feature prominently in the training pictures. Now I don’t like reading too much into pictures, like the time a news site took pictures of Van Persie (Dutch skunk) training with us when he was still here and then the caption were striker looks disinterested and body language shows he wants to join Man United. I saw the same thing for the Suarez story. I don’t believe in that crap, but I have noticed a trend on the Arsenal website; it seems players that feature on the manager’s mind are more prominent in pictures…no joke! I hardly see Debuchy in training pictures, or before Joel Campbell became prominent, he was hardly ever there. Maybe I’m seeing things or reading too much into it, but it’s just a personal observation. I could be totally wrong, but it seems the manager likes Elneny, we’ll see I guess.
It’s awesome news though. I went on physioroom.com and I found on Jack Wilshere on the list. We are now 16th on the table. Although it seems the guys over at Physioroom usually so reliable, forgot that Cazorla is out…unless there’s something we don’t know?
Just imagine…
No! I can’t make that mistake, I can’t dream such a dream, the disappointment of being wrong will cripple me. So let’s revel in what we do have. I wonder if he’ll start Alexis though and we have seen the boss be more careful with Alexis than I’ve seen him be with any of our players and I support it. We love Alexis and sometimes you can imagine that he could have added something in the games we lost or drew in his absence, but I’d rather have a fully fit Alexis than one with a setback and most times we lose the gamble on these setback thing. So I am fully in support of the Boss’s caution here. I do hope he is fit enough to start because make no mistake; Chelsea are going to be difficult.
They may have lost the revolting Portuguese guy, but they are still formidable. Gus Hiddink is a great coach who will set up his team intent to win against us and the Chelsea players themselves will be fired up for the game. We will need every ace available to win this. Thing is; we have them and I am hopeful that we can deal Chelsea a huge blow.
It’ll be nice, it’ll do that whole confirm we’re champions material thing and I’d really, really love to beat Chelsea. We just have to wait and see on that I guess.
Beyond that I guess I have nothing else to say, here’s hoping our rivals fumble over the weekend and drop points.
Oh and what’s this I hear about Eboue wanting a return to the team?
LOL!
Till later.
