I hope you all enjoyed my part 1 in this series (i’m just calling it that ‘cos I could not find a better word to use at the time of writing) and for those that commented, a big thank you
So today, am going to bring up something else that’s a big issue with us Arsenal fans and that is INJURIES…………
I was going to talk about something else but with the recent injury to Mathieu Debuchy in the game against Stoke (The Official Rugby team of the English Premiership) on Sunday, I had to touch on this.
The heavens knows how much injuries have cost us as a team.
Injuries!!!! Injuries!!!! Injuries!!!!
Have we ever had the whole squad fit??? I doubt that has ever happened.
Its has become something of a norm at Arsenal to see our players injured for long spells hence the famous saying from Wenger when they all come back ‘the players feel like new signings’.
You could just guess for how long they have been out for such a statement to be made. Now we also ask ourselves the question, What is the cause of injuries to our players??
Is the training too tough on them??
Are our Physios poor??
Are our players too fragile??
Is it a curse placed on Arsenal by one highly powerful and disillusioned Arsenal fan who is pissed with Wenger and decided to place the injury curse on the team till Wenger goes??
Too many things to ask but one answer we all can answer readily is the fact that our team has been subjected to hard and rough tackles over time. Just look at that Stoke team, all they did was push and shove us about.
A Lot of questions on our minds about the way our players get injured but there are only just a few we have ready answers to. It’s become more like a cliche, a player has a good run of games and somehow out of nowhere he gets injured for months. Can this ever stop happening??
Look at Debuchy who just came back from about 3 months out with an ankle injury. He gets in the side, gets some good games, even scores against Liverpool but before we could say jack. One silly push from Arnautovic and he is out injured again. Sources are saying he could face another 3 months out or even more.
Virtually every player has had a spell on the sidelines this season thanks to one injury or the other.
One would think, is there something other EPL teams are doing to keep their players fit that we don’t know about???
Sometimes I just imagine how deadly we would be if we could have everyone fit and kicking. What an awesome team we would have to toy with, that’s without even factoring transfers into that.
I leave you with this question.
What do you think is the cause of Arsenal’s injuries???
