Well, M’Vila played and to be honest, I was quite impressed. The performance was not out of this world but it was just enough to make me rest assured that if he joined us, we would be for the better.

He didn’t lose much balls and he seemed always to stay within his ‘catchment’ area, a little unlike Song who waltzes about the field, leaving our already vulnerable defence more vulnerable.
However, it’s not all good news:

“However, when it comes to tracking runners, Arsenal should be concerned about M’Vila‘s awareness and reaction speed. Several times he was guilty of slowly trotting around or remaining static, while runners from the Spain midfield simply bypassed his position before he reacted.“
