First, let’s congratulate our girls for smacking Millwall 3-1 yesterday. This makes it four (4) wins out of four for them. We desperately want them to tear a leaf from the boys’ notes. Arsenal’s under-18’s also beat Northampton 2-1 in the Youth Cup yesterday as well. Congrats to both teams.
Today, we face Qarabag and news has filtered in that Özil will either play or be on the bench. At least, he’ll feature somewhere. I also believe Unai will look to rest some first team players and give some under-23’s a chance. Again, the likes of Emile Smithe-Rowe, Maitland-Niles and maybe Nketiah might feature in today’s match.
…
Okay, information just reached us that Özil and Koscielny are part of Unia’s starting 11 against Qarabag. Youngsters Saka, Willock, Niles and Nketiah are in on this one.
On the bench we’ve got:
- Nacho
- Mkhitaryan
- D.Iliev
- Z. Medley
- Guendouzi
- Charlie Gilmour
- Tyreece John-Jules
There are many names on here that I haven’t heard before, forgive my ignorance. But it shows Unia’s looking to include some youth and maybe ease the transition into the first team for some.
A surprise addition though is Emile Martinez.
It’s nice to know Unai’s keen on giving him a chance while our qualification into the knock-out round is secure. We have a few minutes before the match starts, all the best to us.
