Arsenal will not sign Julian Draxler. At least not yet.
If you woke up this morning thinking we had signed the 20 year old lad, you aren’t alone. Twitter’s awash this morning with many of us talking about how he’ll play, who he’ll partner with upfront and if he’s our new Robin van puss.
I hate to break it to you but, this might turn out to be another bubble. Remember Higuain? And M’Villa?
Getting yourself into a transfer market rumourmongering frenzy is hazardous to your blood pressure; it doesn’t help mine either.
We know Giroud needs help and Theo’s injured, Podolski and Chamberlain are just being re-introduced into the team and our style of play. Our midfield is capable of scoring a reasonable number of goals a’la Wilshere, a recovered Ramsey, Ozil, Rosicky et al. As it is, we can just about pull this off; I say this tongue-in-cheek.
Your mind is better off resigned to the thought that Arsene might pull off a loan instead of a buy; he may reserve that till summer. Besides, Draxler’s injured possibly till the end of the January window and that may hamper his move.
So, set your mind on other things like us beating Fulham in our next game or on the question of who we’ll sign in the summer. Regarding the latter, I’d be very satisfied with one helping of Julian Draxler and another helping of Diego Costa and, if there’s no Diego on the menu, I’ll have a Martinez Jackson please…sounds like some brand of scotch. 🙂
In other news, rumour has it that Barcelona’s trying to poach your captain Vermaelen. I know he’s not getting much playing time but, wouldn’t you prefer that he stays?
