“I think nothing can happen without sorting out the Sanchez and Ozil situation, that’s the problem,” Laurens said on ESPN FC.
“That’s why I think people at the club are maybe getting a little bit frustrated.
“If nothing happens with Sanchez and Ozil, the rest of the business can’t be done, they need to sort that out.” – Culled from Express
I really want to bypass the fluff and hot air that permeates the wet Arsenal transfer season we’re in.
It’s bad enough that we have to deal with heavy rains in this part of the world, I don’t need anyone worsening the situation.
The flood this afternoon comfortably grazed the bonnet of the car I was in. And then we got in a little ditch.
Rough.
So Alexis Sanchez….
We hear that he’s told all parties to hold off discussions until he’s done with the Confederations Cup. True professional he is.
That, or he’s playing hard-to-get like a pretty lady who’s getting courted.
My worry is that Arsenal = Wenger will mess this process up like they always do.
No?
Tell me, since after the era of the Invincibles have we been able to keep a really good player who wanted out due to money matters or lack of trophies?
Name one.
And I’m not talking about Theo Walcott.
However amazing you think he is, he’s no Thierry Henry, Bergkamp or Van-Pursestrings. Darn! Those were some of our best forwards.
My Thoughts on Arsenal’s Need to Act
My thoughts are that with clubs like Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester City and now Chelsea after his signature, our offer had better be good, and our ambition better. Plus, the club might have to bring in a big name signing to prove that we have the ambition we obviously don’t….
Sorry, but winning the FA Cup every year is not ambition.
Arsenal is bigger than that.
Our ambition for the status we used to have and claim to still have is to get to the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the very least.
Yes, I said so.
We have until July 2 to begin negotiations again with Sanchez. Until then, it’s fingers crossed; a situation I find absolutely terrifying.
