Akpom, who has been at Arsenal since the age of six, displays all the flair and brashness that has come to be associated with attacking players of Wenger’s reign.
Akpom was playing with the u18 team aged just 15, was called up to the senior squad at age 17 and has since been sent out on loan to Brentford FC, Coventry City FC & Nottingham Forest FC in order to aid his development.
Akpom’s international goal-scoring record is impressive at a number of age groups – scoring 5 in 13 appearances at u17 level, 6 in 13 at u19 and 6 in 11 at u20.
Despite interest from other Premier League clubs as well as from abroad Wenger was eager to keep Akpom at the club and tied him down to a four and a half year deal in February of this year. Akpom’s impressive pre-season has also prompted Wenger to confirm that he will not be sent out on loan this season indicating that he may have a big part to play in the coming months.
Feel free to share the video and subscribe to FFDTV Online on YouTube () where they showcase the best young talent from academies such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City. As well as entertaining fans they also aim to inspire the next generation of players to succeed – the reason Akpom chose to collaborate with us.
Thanks FFDTV for Chuba’s video.
