No offence to him or the last article we wrote about him, but, we are crushed at Mister Spruce that the Ox is out for the whole season even before it starts.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has on the same day the scousers announced their new big-money signing from Roma, made a statement about Ox’s injury:
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of Liverpool’s plans for next season with Jürgen Klopp admitting it will be “a bonus” if the midfielder plays a competitive game before May.
The Ox sustained multiple ligament damage in his Champions League match against Roma and is expected to be out for 12 months or more. Unfortunately, he had been in pretty good form for Liverpool before the injury.
Yes, I say ‘unfortunately’ because he was hardly played like that for us at Arsenal. In hindsight, maybe Arsene should have just listened to the lad and played him in midfield, perhaps we should have trained him differently, but, hey! What do I know about football and tactics?
Nothing.
Except that we played some players out of position.
A lot.
Moving on, Santi Carzola seems to be back playing and enjoying his football. I think the move back to Spain was good for him. Family, friends and good food.
