It’s the FA Cup semi-final tomorrow against Reading and there are quite a couple of things coming out of the Emirates as we speak. I was privy to some inside info while taking a stroll outside of Wenger’s office yesterday *y’all know that was in my dream ba?*.sha am gonna be sharing the info with you guys anyways.
The journey to retaining our FA cup trophy continues tomorrow*i think I said that in the first line, lol* and we are playing that Reading team which we won 7-5 some time ago. They’ve been on a pretty bad run of late, about 6 games without a win or so.
So back to my dream, I heard Wenger saying he believed we were going to win that game against Reading, then probably face Liverpool in the final so we could ruin Stevie G’s ‘perfect’ send off game *muahahaha*
Wenger also confirmed that our very own Pole would return for the game against Reading. okay that’s a lie, I read his press conference. Arsene Wenger confirmed Szczesny will play ahead of David Ospina against Reading at Wembley on Saturday but offered no further guarantees.
‘At the moment, I hope yes,’ said Wenger, after a long, uncharacteristic hesitation, when asked if Szczesny had a long-term future at the club. ‘It is very difficult to answer that question, you know. What is important is Saturday.’
Was Wenger using style to say he would sell Woj this summer?
He continued saying, ’His attitude is very good. He has trained very well, very focused. Your JOB is to fight for your place, no matter how difficult it is. When you choose this kind of job you know it is down to competition.’
…When you choose this kind of job you know it is down to competition…
Szczesny is understood to be content with his situation and confident of winning back his place. His Arsenal contract runs until 2018, but he has made just three appearances — all in the FA Cup — since an error-strewn display at Southampton on New Year’s Day.
‘They know the rules,’ said Wenger. ‘They are set at the start of the season. I replaced Wojciech because he had a bad game. I still think he’s a great goalkeeper and want him to have the OPPORTUNITY to show that.
‘It is important two goalkeepers get competition and he will get that in the FA Cup now as long as Ospina plays in the Premier League. Barcelona play their No 2 goalkeeper in the Champions League. Why? Because you need to give them competition.’
Ospina has won 11 of 12 Premier League games since the Szczesny chop, but he could not prevent a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of the Champions League tie against Monaco. His unfussy style has solidified a notoriously brittle team. With frailties due to their commitment to attractive football, Arsenal crave reliability from their goalkeeper.
Szczesny, for all his bravado and talent, was anything but reliable, with a short attention span and a tendency to become bored and seek involvement even when (especially when) his team were in control. *wonder what makes him think he’s Manuel Neuer, mscheeew*. kmt.
That’s that with the keeper wahala. Still on the FA cup, the English FA are looking for our trouble and Wenger is pissed about it, I am too. Why would they put our game and Chelsea vs Manure at the same time ehn!? who does that?
Arsene Wenger says something must be done to solve the fixture scheduling mess which means Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final will clash with a key Premier League title game.
Arsenal will take on Reading on Saturday evening as league leaders Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
On TV scheduling, Wenger said:
‘Something should be done. I’m surprised they don’t analyse it in the TV deals. I’m surprised a game of the same stature is played at the same time. There’s a little conflict there. It’s difficult to understand.’
‘We would like it to be a unique competition that’s played, especially a semi-final or final and don’t want it to be conflicting with other competitions. It’s a very big game (at Chelsea). It’s a surprise to me.’
Wenger admits a United win at Chelsea could open up the title race again. ‘Mathematically yes,’ he said. ‘But we have to keep winning.’
Wenger was also pushed into talking about the Klopp to Arsenal rumours and he said ‘lai! lai!,i no dey commit for here’.*wish he could say that sef*
Oya, enough of talking about Wenger.
Mesut Ozil who has seemed like an new signing since his return from injury *in Wenger’s voice* seems to think his injury was more of a blessing than a curse and says the injury made him a better player as he was able to improve himself and build his strength.in his own words, he said:
‘The injury worked in my favour in a way, as it gave me time to recover, to assess and to work on what was required to compete in this league,’ he added.
‘The football here is far more physical, it is played at a faster tempo and you have to adapt to the sheer number of games.
‘I have had to work a lot harder and adjust my game accordingly. I used my time out with injury to work on my strength. I’m continuing to do extra sessions after training now.’

Also, Alex ‘Ox’ Chamberlain is reported to have suffered a set back to his injury which could see him miss out of the rest of the season. That Bayern world class physio that left should come to Arsenal na, Wenger would never speak bad of you, I promise.
That’s all I have for now. Be back with match preview later.
Do have a wonderful day…
I am Oreva and am signing out…
