A bright and sunny Friday to you all. It’s a lovely morning, you know why? Because we play this weekend. The dreaded interlull is finally over! Wheeeeeeee! *throws papers into the wind*
So what happened?
Our players represented their respective countries and are now back, so we can focus on actual football. It’s funny that a lot of people have been ragging on Shad so early into the season, truth is he couldn’t have prevented the injuries we’ve sustained so far.
It seemed like business as usual yesterday with news that Ozil and Ramsey were doubts for the City game (the game’s for 12:45, I don’t like that at all).
I was expecting news that Sanchez had had an injury in his sleep, Wilshere had injured himself by falling over Archie’s toys, Welbeck had pain in his leg for no apparent reason (A Man-U fan having burnt an effigy of him or taken off the leg of a Welbeck voodoo doll) and Per had injured himself after being run over by an old lady’s shopping cart. But lo and behold, they all might make it!
Ozil trained yesterday, Chris Coleman and Ramsey himself seem optimistic that he’ll be fit for Saturday, Arteta trained also (Gibbs still seems like a doubt) and from all reports it seems Sanchez is fine. It’s a miracle I tellz ya! A miracle!
So with everyone (bar the gorgeous one, speedy gonzalez and Kieran ‘Ogo’) fit and ready, we really should be able to have some optimism for the weekend.
Everyone remembers the 6-3 thrashing we got from City last season and everyone seems to forget that we’ve faced them twice since then and not lost (1-1 at the Emirates and the 3-0 win at the community shield) so while they’re a force to be reckoned with, I believe we also have a team capable of going toe to toe with them.
I also strongly feel this would be a great time to revert to our 4-2-3-1 formation from last season. The 4-1-4-1 just doesn’t do it for me. Get Ozil back to the middle, use Welbeck in the middle and we should be fine. I acknowledge that I have nowhere near as much experience or knowledge that Arsene has, these are just my two cents.
But I guess the manager knows best.
See y’all on Monday and hopefully we’ll have 3 extra points by then.
