Hello folks and Welcome to the weekend.
It’s been a hell of a week, I picked up another job so I find myself with even less time than usual, which is a bummer, but hey, i’m learning so it’s all good right?
From an Arsenal perspective, well…I’m glad for more things to do really as I can use work as a distraction fro our predicament. But Arsenal is like a wife I could never leave. Ypu could have a fight with said wife, go out for air, take a long drive, maybe even sleep on the couch or just go somewhere to hideout, but you’ll go back to her, that one is sure.
That’s Arsenal for me. I sat out the Barcelona game because I knew exactly what was going to happen. Okay so maybe I use the word exactly rather loosely, but I didn’t think we’d win– or even draw, so I saved myself the grief and watched on twitter. Even then I wanted to stream the game pretty badly.
Sigh
We lost and tomorrow we Play Everton. The last time we played Everton away at 12:45, we got walloped 3-0, it was a humbling defeat. That it came after ridiculous defeats to Chelsea, City and Liverpool didn’t help matters. We’re not even in great form. We can only hope for a win this time. The team selection against Barcelona tells me that the manager was also keeping an eye on Everton with neither Campbell nor Giroud starting.
On the bright side, without the distraction of any other competition we can really and truly focus on the Premier League. Winning it would be nothing short of a miracle, but we’ve seen teams collapse before at the home stretch, it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility. The real problem is that there’s little confidence of the team performing at all.
This could all change tomorrow…or continue.
Mesut Ozil has been speaking on fighting. He says
“We have to concentrate now and give everything on the pitch. We have to fight.
“I know the teams playing us will fight to take the points against us, so the games will be tough. We have to fight on the pitch and we have to think from game to game, not that we can win eight games in a row and take the points.
“Now it’s not possible to win just our games, so other teams need to lose points as well. The first step is to believe in us.
“We have to work harder than before. We have tough games coming but we have to take the points. If we win the title, we will be very happy because we believe in us.
“If you see the whole season, we’ve played very well. We’ve lost some points because we weren’t concentrated or we didn’t score. Now we have to fight for each game to take the points.”
Now I hope to God that somehow they take that to heart and we start some sort of resurgence against Everton. We’ll wait and see. Fingers crossed.
Till then
