If you’ve been a Gunner for a while, like I have – 14 years and counting – you’ll understand why there IS a need to be worried.
And then you think of Liverpool and their ‘phase’…
You’re like “oh bloody hell! We can’t be another Liverpool!”
That’s why I’m worried and scared and biting my nails desperately…
I thought winning the FA Cup and the Community Shield might change things; it clearly hasn’t. I know we have a shaky defense but, there are teams without half the talent we have playing with more purpose, more passion, more…everything!
And like I mentioned on twitter, maybe it’s the spirit of the new Board that the manager and the team are channeling. And ultimately, Gunners, who for some weird reason have become okay with 4th place, something I think would be far reaching and difficult to get this season.
While I’m more relieved than happy that we came out on top with the 3 points, I’m uneasy with our campaign going forward; you’ll be foolish not to be. Another problem is this new formation Wenger’s intent on using, if something doesn’t work, why stick with it?
I chose to be a positive realist this season and always look at the bright side of our game however, right now, the only positive I see is that we have a a plethora of talent that aren’t being properly utilized. Not a fan of Mourinho, but he’ll do a better job with this team considering the talents at his disposal.
