Seems no headway has been made at Arsenal concerning Alexis Sanchez, much like my attempt to write for the hardiest fans in all of football: Gunners.
Words, at this time of the year, seem to elude me as much of what is out there are all fluff and no puff.
So, on to the matter at hand: If Arsenal buys Thomas Lemar, we can sell off Sanchez if he really wants to leave…
That’s if we’re not looking for immediate Premier League title gratification.
Stats.
Yes I know, I’m bringing up stats again, but, it’s fine really. The stats favour Sanchez on every point except age and possible costs on wages. And considering the magic Lemar’s already making in the Ligue Un. who’s to say he’ll not set the EPL alight. Give me a little positivity people!
Thomas Lemar is a cheaper option, whichever way you look at it. Long term, it’ll pay us more as he’s got age on his side, and we could sell him for relatively more in the future.
In the short term, we could sell Alexis Sanchez for £80m to Citeh and get Lemar for £45m max (at least, that’s what I hope) so there’s some change. And, considering the magic Lemar’s already making in the Ligue Un. who’s to say he’ll not set the EPL alight. Give me a little positivity people!
I know you need your immediate EPL title fix but, who’s to say our boys might not produce a little magic with Lemar on the wings? You can’t say.
I’d love to keep Sanchez, by Bergkamp, I want us to.
But I’d prefer that we had/have a Plan B, and, THIS Lemar guy, should be our Plan B. He’s one for the future. The club must also ship out the deadwood we’ve got up at the club, it’ll also free up some money and space. We’ll miss Sanchez, but we must prepare for life without him.
*A little update on the stats. Sanchez has scored and assisted more than Lemar but with more game time*
