Hey guys and welcome to the end of the interlull. Like i’ve said before i liked this interlull, if the Man Utd and Dortmund games were coming immediately after the Swansea game, my outlook would have been a whole lot more bleak than it is at the moment
There were internationals, Sanchez scored against Uruguay sans Lestat, Welbeck scored, There was a Wilshere assist somewhere, there was a Chamberlain goal somewhere and there were some Podolski complaints…but in all this (and there was a lot) guess what?
NO INJURIES!!!!
Isn’t that just amazing… I’m almost afraid to believe it, like Arsene would have a press conference and say that the entire English contingent are out due to some disease Rooney passed to them or something. Fingers crossed that isn’t the case. So we have a couple of important games coming up and it may sound a tad dramatic but they really could be a make or break for the season. Two wins and all will be well, a win and a draw and people won’t be too glad but they just might get over it, two draws and there would be a not so quiet seething and a feeling that our season is over…i really don’t want to talk about the other scenarios, what i do know for sure is that it would not be pretty.
Now there’s been a lot of talk about the two defenses; ours is as makeshift as they come and theirs is so leaky that it’s a name of a popular inn in Diagon Alley. I feel we are both vulnerable but to be honest i am way more worried about ours than about theirs mostly because hey i’m an Arsenal fan and i don’t give two flying cavemen what United do or what problems they have. If there was ever a time to get the team gelling it would be now. if we can win these crucial fixtures not only will it raise the morale of the fans, but also those of the players
Aterta had this to say
“When you see some faces with disappointment and doubts, it is not good. They are players of the top level and after one, two or three performances it is natural – you get doubts, you are not happy with yourself, you get a bit down”
So you know it’s also getting to the players and they need these wins almost as much as the fans if not more. If they win maybe the whole big game hoodoo could be broken, now i understand that United might not be as scary as Chelsea or the Mancs, but we are still jinxed by them and we need to find a way to break that. Defeat would be bad on so many levels.
Both games are home games and while i understand that it hasn’t improved our form at least we haven’t lost at the Emirates yet, so the players should take some heart from that. It would be so heart warming if Welbeck got a goal, i don’t care if he doesn’t celebrate, we’ll do it for him. We have Walcott and maybe even Giroud back and we have players like Podolski and Rosicky chomping at the bit to play, if Arsene can find a way to manage them then we’ll be all good.
Fingers crossed that next time we talk it would be a celebration of three sweet points, now if you’ll excuse me, i really need to perfect my Imperio curse.
