The Christmas spirit is definitely in my office. They had a movie night last night and want to play games tonight…promises to be fun.
We saw the man from U.N.C.L.E. and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice to see Henry Cavill as someone other than Superman, that helps as I hate Superman so much! Ugh! What a boy scout and way too powerful for my liking.
On Arsenal news. I laughed when we drew Barca. I don’t for a second think it was random, but that’s my inner conspiracy theorist speaking, so what do I know? Can we beat them? Well……..
Let the time come first, we’ll see.
Hopefully we have most people back from injury and all that. Speaking of injuries, there are reports that Danny Welbeck has suffered a setback. That is the most Arsenal thing that could have happened. We were hoping to get Welbeck back by January and now according to reports he could be set back for another month stretching his return into February.
When you consider that he has to come back to normal fitness and then match fitness then match sharpness then we might not really have Welbeck as Welbeck till March. That’s just sad. Let’s hope there are no delays on Wilshere and Rosicky because we really need them. We also know that we probably won’t have Coquelin back for the first leg of the Barcelona game and we have to figure out what to do about that.
Speaking on that, club legend Thierry Henry seems to be of the opinion that we only need a defensive midfielder in January and I tend to agree. Before the season started we kinda knew that we needed a defensive midfielder anyway to challenge Francis Coquelin, going into the season relying on an ageing and increasingly injury prone Mikel Arteta and not always reliable Flamini was a huge risk and now with Coquelin injured it’ll be madness to not try and strengthen in that area. I understand the fears that the mad route is exactly what Arsene will take, but let’s see, he seems to have been a lot more fun in the transfer market over the last couple of seasons. Maybe not as much fun as some people want, but still fun all the same.
We’ve been active in the last couple of windows bringing in Gabriel and Monreal in recent January windows. It’ll be interesting to see who the targets are, I’ve heard Yann M’vila, some Neves guy, William Carvalho (of course). Knowing Arsene we’ll probably end up with Lassana Diarra or something *shrugs*
Surely if we are to sustain a challenge for the premier League an addition would also be welcome. This is our best chance ever! Everyone is so inconsistent we could be the most inconsistently consistently inconsistent team and somehow win this, I fully believe this and won’t it be lovely? We just have to make sure we do our part by making sure the team is well stocked.
