Aaron Ramsey, Rambo, the Welsh prince with piercing eyes…
The BBC carried it today:
[su_quote cite=”BBC Football” url=”https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47203118″]Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in the summer in a deal that will earn him over £400,000 a week. The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract that will see him join the Italian champions as a free agent, ending his 11-year spell with Arsenal.
Ramsey passed a two-part medical in January, having picked Juve following talks with a host of European clubs.
He will be the highest-earning British player ever based on basic salary.[/su_quote]
In recent times, I’ve eulogised him. Most Arsenal fans are pissed that our management allowed him to run down his contract. Ian Wright especially:

259 games, 61 goals and, almost 10million adoring fans, the question is:
Is Aaron Ramsey worth the £400k a week salary Juventus is paying him?
Would you have, if you could, pushed Arsenal to pay him that kind of money?
Me? No.
But I’d have sold Özil to keep him. Not so that I can pay him £400k, but so that I can pay him a little less than was Özil earned. I’m sure he’d have taken that if we did our business with him early.
Rambo might not be a creative genius but, 8 out of 10 times, you find him in games. He doesn’t hide, he doesn’t go missing, he works his behind off and isn’t a defensive liability. Some disgruntled fans said Rambo would end up at West Ham, “Sell the bloody Welshman to Scunthorpe!” they said.
Well, a club who knows his worth sees £400k a week and a free transfer as a bargain. I definitely don’t think he’s worth that much but I’m more than convinced it’s Arsenal who have lost out in this deal – a really good player and lots of money.
