Many people complain(ed) about Özil’s lack of enthusiasm, and at times he’s been called a luxury player. I mentioned in this article here that Arsenal fans by now should know the player they’ve got in Özil. He won’t run the ends of the earth like Torreira or Guendouzi, neither will he turn up in every game. By the way, no player turns up 100% in every game.

The players know the quality Özil brings and so seem to be solidly behind him. Passes like the ones he made against Burnley or Leicester are the reasons you want him on your team. The only player who can creatively hold a candle to Özil in the Premier League is Christian Ericksen, and Rotten Totten-Spurs have him. Until we have a close replacement, let’s enjoy and make the best of the player we have in Özil.
