Hey there people, Happy new month to you.
Yaaaay, August is here already and what does that mean? Simple, the Premier league is almost, as a matter of fact it’s some 11 days away now and I cannot say how excited I am at having the league back to fill my Saturdays and Sundays.
So alot has happened since you last heard from me. We have played and won our two friendlies in the Usa, Drogba scored against us yet again, The Ox unleashed his inner Lionel Messi and tried to make a case for himself ahead of the new season, Rob Holding scored his first Arsenal goal courtesy of a Callum Chambers assist (I see they are bonding well already), the club released our new away and third kits and most recently, Jack Wilshere picked up an injury again.
That last one has to be the most worrying of all. Yes Wenger spoke about it and said we can expect to have him back by next week but the fact that it’s Wilshere just scares me a little more.
‘Jack has a slight problem with his knee,’ Wenger said. ‘We think it should not be very long. He should come back quickly, maybe next week.’
‘It’s a slight patella problem but I think he should be with us on tour on Thursday.’
The England international has suffered 11 major injuries since 2011, keeping him on the sidelines for a total of 890 days and when you hear that he has a slight injury just before the season starts, you begin to wonder if that injury is truly slight. For someone who played only 141 minutes of football last season, you would expect he has had all the injuries he can for the next year but then I guess it doesn’t work that way with Wilshere.
I can only wish him well and hope he comes back from that injury in time for the start of the season ‘cos we need all hands on deck for the coming season.
About the new jerseys, I really love them and I wish I could cop all 3 of them.
That being said, I do hope we can lift a trophy or two in these jerseys come May 2017.
We face Pep Guardiola and his boys in our next and final friendly before the season starts, same day with the Community Shield game. Oh well, we could just take that as our own Community Shield match.
Just before I go, please remember that we still haven’t signed a striker. keep that at the back of your mind.
Bye??????????
