Leicester v Arsenal FC: Our defence worries me.
The End… okay, not the end, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t terribly worried. It’s now just not about buying players but about Wenger adjusting his tactics, Arsenal have become so predictable.
We pushed too far up and left ample space for Leicester on the counter; not good. Upfront Yaya Sanogo was well…Yaya Sanogo. Ramsey and Ozil didn’t have the best of games either and Podolski was non-existent even though he was brought on in the dying minutes.
We lacked that bite in-front of goal and I’m worried to fainting when we meet Chelsea and even Spuds; there’s work to be done. Even Wenger said:
We lost two points but we have to respect the performance of Leicester and be realistic – we could have lost the game in the end. Our game was not quick enough, not sharp enough, not simple enough. We had plenty of opportunities but didn’t look like we could finish the game off. Leicester fought and had a real cup [style] game. We had a good spirit but lacked the creative side of our game.
We need a Striker and a DM period. And then Wenger needs to tweak his tactics, not a complete overhaul mind you, but, he needs to tweak it with the opponents in mind.
That’s all from me, lamenting as usual. Enjoy what’s left of Sunday, tomorrow I’m up at 5am and off to work at 6am.
