I would have liked to start this by saying Merry Christmas to everyone who gets a chance to read this but seeing as Christmas is till 10 days away, I would save the Merry Christmas greetings till then. That’s for me though as clubs around the world are either celebrating their Christmas parties this period, visiting the sick with Christmas presents or for those having a poor run of results…
I wont even try to mentions names but your guess is as good as mine.
For such teams I think they’ll just rather be having team meetings and more trainings now to ensure they produce better results during the coming period of back to back fixtures in a couple of days till the new year.
Fortunately for us, our darling Arsenal is in such a form that they can afford to have a Christmas party with smiles and gifts flowing around. I kinda wish I was able to attend that though, I know you do too.
The annual Arsenal Christmas party took place on Saturday and what a time to celebrate, being as it was Santi Cazorla’s 30th birthday and we had just finished having a meal out of Newcastle winning the game by 4goals to 1 thanks to braces form Olivier Giroud and Birthday boy himself, Cazorla.
A number of the players could be seen posting pictures before the event as they all got into the festive spirit. Wojciech Szczesny,Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin were the most notable of those, with Bellerin understandably delighted after yet another impressive display from the young right back.
Bellerin said on Instagram: ‘Buzzing for another start today and the win! Now off to our Christmas dinner tonight’. #COYG
Theo Walcott who has been out injured for sometime has a reason to be happy and posted on instagram, ‘Great win tonight! Now onto the #ChristmasParty’, with Szczesny equally enthusiastic about the night ahead adding, ‘Christmas party time!!
Debuchy who also had a good game playing at central back, found time for a selfie on the night and Ramsey also shared a picture.
There was also a picture from Arsenal’s official Instagramer, allow me to call him that please, in the case you don’t know who I am referring to yet its Lukas Podolski. Interestingly, Poldi could not even wait to get to the party and he had already started posting pictures from the emirates immediately after the win. He posted a picture on his instagram saying, ‘I asked Santa before the game for 3 points & he personally came to deliver them last night!’.
Next up for Arsenal would be a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool who are really on the downside right now after losing 3-0 to Manchester united on Sunday. After which we have games against London teams West Ham and QPR before traveling to Southampton on New Years day.
