First off let me start by saying a happy new month to you guys.
It’s December, whoop whoop??, Christmas is coming, Santa? is coming, the year is ending soon. That’s a lot to be thankful and happy
So now that’s out of the way let’s talk football.
Today is Friday *another reason to be excited* and that means football is back tomorrow and this always brings me some excitement. We play West Ham this weekend and I think now would be the best time to play them seeing as they just lost 4-1 to United in the league cup.
Oops plot twist, this is a wrong time to play them because after that loss, they’ll be trying to redeem themselves and not lose 2 games in a row. So contrary to what you think, this is going to be a very tough game. With players like Andy Caroll coming back from injury, you can expect them to be firing on all cylinders, or to at least fire on one cylinder.
Now that is not what I’m here to talk about, I’m here to talk about November, our cursed month, our hoodoo month, the month where it has been said that we always lose it all and have our lowest points tally. So how about we take a look at this past November together, walk with me*In DJ Khaled’s voice*
At a first glance, you would readily say we didn’t fare badly in this November compared to the other ones, seeing as we lost only one game in the whole month, which as the last game of the month and it was even in the EFL cup, I mean, who takes that seriously? durrhhhh!!!
Now take another look at November and you’ll see that it wasn’t too far off when compared with previous years. We did horribly. Yes we played 6 games and lost only one but then we won 2 and drew 3, meaning we finished the month with 9 points from a possible 15, add that quarter final exit from the EFL and the month wasn’t so pretty now was it?
We were joint top of the league in October and now we are wallowing in 4th position, this is not a coincidence is it? We really do love 4th spot. We had a chance to top our Champions league drop but we just had to draw with PSG and let that slip away. Now we have to hope PSG lose when match day 6 comes and try to win our game too so we can top the group. hahahahaha. We are here again aren’t we.
Oh November, why do you have to be so cruel??
Not only were our results not fantastic this month but we also got injuries, to key players???.
I was just here listening to Gambino’s new album (permit me to say, that album is amazing, y’all should go and listen to it) when I saw the news about Santi being out for a minimum 3 months. Like how???? Why us?? what have we done to deserve this??
Cazorla, Bellerin and don’t even get me started about Debuchy who after making a long awaited return from injury, only lasted 15 minutes before going off injured and now he’s out for an estimated 6 weeks??. Also, there’s Elneny who picked up a sickness and had to be taken off in the first half during our last game, add Giroud who picked up a knock against Bournemouth and is likely to miss the West Ham game to that list and that’s a very long and annoying list of injuries.
On the bright side though, Welbeck is back in training, while Lucas Perez returned from injury and got to feature in the Southampton game. Finally, some positives.
Now look at November again and tell me what you think?
– 4th in Premier League ✅
– 2nd in CL group ✅
– Injury problems ✅
– Struggled in November ✅
– Out of League Cup✅
It’s almost like the script was written some years back and the writers are too lazy to write another one.
Oh well, thank God December is here. It’s time to forget November and move forward starting with that game against West Ham tomorrow.
Good luck to the boys and get well soon, to all the guys in the treatment room.
