Arsenal have finally announced the capture of Polish youngster, Krystian Bielik.
The deal is said to be in the region of 2 million even though Wenger has declared it as an undisclosed as is his style.
Bielik made his senior debut for the Polish club in August aged 16. He went on to feature five times for Legia in the league and once in the Europa League.
The versatile Poland youth international can play in both holding midfield and at centre-back.
Significantly, Arsenal stressed this morning that Bielik can play both “holding midfield and at centre-back” and Wenger has also said that he will be in immediate contention for the first-team squad.
Is that a sign that Wenger has used one cheque to fill two positions???
Wenger had confirmed that a deal was on since last Friday and it was like it would take forever for them to announce his capture but he has finally been announced.
Poland youth international Bielik, who also had talks with German club Hamburg, is expected to work initially within the Under 21s, with a view to a swift progression through to the senior squad.
Bielik is said to have loads of potential and seeing some of his videos, I can say he has some promise but we all know how different the EPL is in relation to other leagues.
With fellow country man, Szczesny at the club, Bielik can feel welcome and at least have a compatriot to roll around with.
Bielik is the third player to move to the Emirates from Legia Warsaw and I have to think there is one scout there pulling all the strings.
With Wenger saying Krystian could get a run in the first team soon, we might not have to wait for long before we see the youngster in action.
The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
