Lukas Podolski has voiced out his frustration yet again as he does not know what more he needs to do to be given more game time by Arsene Wenger.
One would think Poldi was gonna get a shot in the team especially after his brace at Galatasaray but sadly for the forward, his appearances on the bench have bed.
The German international is not happy because he has performed well, scoring goals in virtually all the games he has been involved in this season but despite his contributions to the team, he is still being ignored. The worst part about this is the fact that if things continue like this, Poldi would find it hard to get regular playing time for the German national team too.
With reports from Italy of a reported loan deal for the marauding forward, it is only fair for Wenger to consider giving him a chance or ultimately letting him go as he doesn’t seem to have a plan for him in the current Arsenal team.
When asked about his current predicament and the transfer rumours circulating, Poldi said,
“A transfer? I have to explain things” he told Polish outlet Super Express.
“I am not young anymore and I cannot afford to wait for a chance from the bench”.
“I am 29 and my only thought is to play and play always”.
“I am not crazy and I do not want to continue my career in the stands”.
“What more can I now show Arsenal that I can do? I scored in the champions league, even scoring twice, and I ended up on the bench. I dont know what more I can do”.
“In the coming days I will speak with the club and clarify their position towards me”.
The former Koln man wil now have to meet with Arsenal and reach an agreement over his future at the Emirates. If they cannot guarantee him of regular football which was the reason why he joined the team in the first place then he will have to move on elsewhere.
“Currently there is nothing that is a forgone conclusion. I have to talk with Arsenal and understand what they want”.
With Inter Milan hovering around the Emirates for his services, it’s up to Wenger to make a decision in the near future. Wenger himself has already said he won’t like to let the forward go but yet refuses to use him. With Olivier Giroud suspended, will Poldi be getting a run in the team?
Personally I like Poldi, his style of play, his energy, his vision for goal. Generally he brings something else to the team when he plays but I am not the coach and only Wenger knows what he sees when he watches Poldi play.
With the team pulling through another 2-1 win yesterday, one can only wonder whether Wenger would give Poldi a chance in the next game against Southampton on New Year’s day.
I think it would only be fair to let Poldi leave on loan till the end of the season at least but with the current injury situation at the team I doubt Wenger would want to let the German international go to Italy. January is almost here, we can only but observe and see the outcome of this.
