So reports have surfaced that resident Loki Prankster, Lukas Podolski has said he’s open to staying at Arsenal, but will he be any use?
Poldi had an underwhelming spell at Inter scoring and assisting only once in all his time there and with stats like that, one would be uncomfortable adding him to the squad. The fans have been clamoring for a ‘world class’ striker, but the reality is that for that to happen, players have to leave: Joel Campbell, Ryo Miyiachi, Yaya Sanogo and probably Lukas Podolski are all examples of players most fans wouldn’t mind seeing the back of and with varying degrees of good reason.
Poldi is a great goalscorer and a lovely character, but it has been shown repeatedly that he doesn’t have the trust of the coach and the fans and is a defensive liability. The acquisition of Sanchez has shown just how a left sided winger should behave in terms of work rate.
Anyway, i guess we can only watch and see what happens. I for one don’t expect him to be around when the season starts and wouldn’t mind seeing him moved on, but hey, that’s just me.
