Hey guys. How’s it going? I have had a great weekend, at some point i was a year older and seeing as i’m still somehow alive in this weird world of horrific deaths, accidents and John Terry, there must be a God.
So it’s a quick one today (it’s mostly quick anyways), PRE SEASON IS HERE! Or well it’s kinda here, out first game is in roughly a week from now and i can and I’m so excited i can barely sit still. Alexis also won the Copa America so I’m mighty chuffed for him. Also my colleague said he’d sell his soul to the devil if Argentina didn’t win, so we’re off to the devil’s pawn shop to sell it (I wonder what he’ll get for it, maybe a bag of chips). So all in all it’s a good time to be alive.

There’s not much going on apart from what i said above and Podolski leaving the club. This is around that time when we start lining up a squad in our heads complete with potential signings. You wonder if Theo will sign a new deal and if he does he’ll play as a striker, you wonder if Ramsey will start the season on the wings or if Arsene will relegate Santi to the bench. Pre season is the time for such thoughts and it’s also the time when we might see some players we normally might not see all season.
For instance the likes of Zelalem, Crowley and Gnabry are all expected to play some part in pre season and it might be a time for them to show the coach what they can do and whether they can be entrusted with first team responsibility. At first glance it’s hard to see any of the aforementioned names making the first team this season, but football is a funny old sport and anything could happen. At the start of last season who’d have thought Bellerin would be a bonafide first team player, but here we are.
So I’m pretty excited as to the prospect of pre season. I hope no one’s still injured and everyone comes back in one piece. I’m sure team news will start filtering in soon enough and we’ll get an idea what shape they’re all in. Till then let’s just celebrate with Alexis i guess.
Till later.
