Arsenal are going to Singapore people and from the look of things Wenger isn’t going there to just learn the language or take selfie’s, as he has released a somewhat strong squad for the tour of Singapore.
Arsenal would take part in the Barclays Asia Trophy in Singapore and would face either Everton or Stoke and Wenger is not joking with that at all.
Monsieur wants to win everything in his way I guess.
Danny Welbeck misses out through a knee injury which ruled him out of the FA Cup final and England’s interntionals at the end of the season, Wenger initially claimed the striker would be back within a couple of days but that was in early May and the problem has not healed despite and extended summer break.
Alexis Sanchez and David Ospina would also miss out of the squad after their participation in the recently concluded Copa America which was won by Sanchez’s Chile.
Carl Jenkinson, Yaya Sanogo, Serge Gnabry and Joel Campbell are also left out of the squad going to Singapore as they are expected to go out on loan.
Rosicky meanwhile suffered a minor injury on international duty with the Czech Republic.
New goalie, Petr Cech is included and the 10million signing from Chelsea will make his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt in a tournament which also involves Everton, Stoke and a Singapore XI.
Youngsters Dan Crowley and Chris Willock both 17 are in the squad and have an opportunity to impress the Prof.
Other young players included are Chuba Akpom (19), already part of the first-team squad, Gedion Zelalem (18) and Jeff Reine-Adelaide (17), who signed from Lens in May.
According to Wenger, Ospina would return on July 27th, Alexis on August 3rd and Gnabry is on holiday after playing with the Under 21s and won’t be back till July 20.
