It took us till the tail end of the match to tie up the game but, we did it.
Most Gunners had been pinning for Podolski to start as Arsene hadn’t given him a starting place in a while; seems our pinning worked as he started the game.
And he shone like a million stars.
He scored the first two goals of the game with beautiful assists from Per and Ozil. Word has it that the atmosphere at the Emirates was fantastic bar the Coventry fan who ran onto the pitch for group hugs. 🙂
Zelalem made his senior début and had some great touches; I guess his game was – Keep It Simple Stupid.
A star has been born.
Zelalem understudying Ozil makes the prospect of the player he’ll turn out to be even more interesting to watch.
Oxlade Chamberlain was quite effective with his forward runs as I predicted and Gibbs played reasonably well for the 90 minutes, even bagging one assist.
Star Players
Podolski was easily the man of the match as he scored the first 2 goals of the game. While Ozil was as effective as he could be; I rather he’d be stronger and chase down more balls.
Santi Carzola increased the pace of the game immediately he came on. The man was in goal scoring form as he put one in the bag as well and Giroud added another from a Gibbs assist.
Gnabry played well and was fast and strong on the ball although all his shots were off target. Zelalem and Wilshere did pretty good as well.
Bendtner played poorly IMO and he needs to do better than he is at the moment.
All in all, it was a game everyone expected us to win. Now, on to Southampton.

@onearsenewenger true. If the unidentified flying object is Draxler, then wow! And maybe we’ll nick Costa in the summer #topbusiness

Well, it all remains to be seen. There have been those Higuain and M’Villa instances we’d rather forget; like I always say, it’s not done till it’s done and dusted.
