And I literarily ask the question: What is going on at Arsenal?
Özil, Ramsey, no money, can only loan players and now, Sven Mislintat.
First, it was Aaron Ramsey running down his contract; not intentionally but because we withdrew our offer on the table. Considering the claim that he was asking for the same wages as Henrik Mkhitaryan, he was very well within his rights to do so. It’s not hard to see that Ramsey contributed more to the team last season than Mkhitaryan did.
Question: Is Unai Emery trying to prove a point or do we just have a clueless Board of directors?
Second, it’s Unai Emery not playing Özil regularly. We all know that Özil’s not going to trot around the field like Guendouzi or Torreira, we should have come to accept that by now. However, the lad sees passes many players don’t see. He keeps the ball flowing, and it’s glaring that we’re currently missing that creativity in the midfield.
Now, there are rumours of us offering Özil to Juventus. Frankly, that wouldn’t be hard to believe considering that the player is wallowing on the bench.
Thirdly, Unai has said Arsenal have no money to purchase players permanently this window. He has also stated that Arsenal can only loan players.
[su_box title=”Arsenal Offer Ozil to Juventus and Inter Milan – 90mins” style=”noise” box_color=”#b3030b” title_color=”#ffffff”]90min lets us know that Unai Emery’s offered Ozil to Inter Milan and Juventus as he looks to offload the creative midfielder. Ozil has failed to feature regularly for Arsenal and might be open to looking to play football elsewhere. Read the story here. [/su_box]
There are many questions that need to be asked here. For example:
- Where’s all the money from the supposed Adidas deal?
- How come we didn’t sell Alexis Sanchez for £60m when we could have? We lost money
- Why didn’t we swap Alexis Sanchez for Mkhitaryan and some cash? Because before the shambles that Alexis Sanchez has become, he was definitely worth way more than Mkhitaryan. Again, we lost money.
- What about the paltry sums we received for Francis Coquelin, Gabriel (who, frankly, seems a better defender than Shkodran Mustafi), Lucas Perez…? Oh, and there’s the Jack Wilshere one where he went for free. I know we were trying desperately to offload, but it gets worse when you leave it till late. Theo Walcott was the only player we got a fairly decent fee for.
It seems the financial management has been shambles. At least on the transfer market front. We no longer make superstars anymore. We either sell them or frustrate them out of the club leaving almost world class-esque players with bleeding price tags – Mustafi? Xhaka?
And finally, Sven Mislintat.
Why? How? What could have possibly gone wrong?
So wrong that you let a guy famed for finding diamonds in the rough on the cheap – Ousman Dembele, Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa (although Manchester United wrecked him and he’s no longer the player he once was), Lewandowski and Matt Hummels among many others.
Arsene Wenger said this when Sven came onboard:

We look forward to him taking our existing recruitment approach forwards.”[/su_quote]
What lines of communication broke down?
And his replacement is Edu?
How?
No offence that Edu’s a former Gunner but, what pedigree does Edu have? Do we plan to tap into the Brazilian market? Does he have the requisite connections? Where else has he worked? What are his negotiation skills like? Too many questions, too little answers.
