The morning after………….
The morning after such an amazing victory………
I am sure you slept well, like me.
You can go to the office with your head held high.
The morning after, you can decide to troll anyone you want, be it #LVGOUT FC, #WeGotOurManagerSacked FC, Loserpool, anyone….
The morning after, you watch the highlights again…..
Okay Okay, that was me testing my poetry skills.
I know, I know, it’s horrible, you can laugh at me.
Now I am done fooling myself, how about we talk about the game.
Yes, we won as expected. What? I didn’t expect to lose to a faltering city, did you? I thought as much.
In the early stages we just allowed the Citizens to dominate play and at a point they were 6 attempts up. lol
Along with a lot of people, I was sure there were going to be goals in this game and it was only a matter of time before they started rolling in.
32nd minute, Ramsey somehow loses possession outside the City box and next few seconds De Bruyne is through on goal. I am sure you had your hearts in your mouth by then, yeah I did too.
Somehow, for reasons best known to the gods of football, the 54 million man misses the chance.
*pheewww* that was close.
The game had already taken a classic basketball game form, only that basketball games didn’t remain 0-0 after 32 mins.
It became a matter of who was going to score with their own chances and just as you already know, ‘twas going to be Walcott.
33rd minute, just after KDB squandered his, we were at them again and this time the ball fell to our choir master, Mesut Ozil the conductor of the orchestra.
Pass to Walcott and Theo did the rest.
It was a fabulous finish from Walcott, a real bolt from the blue. His pace, his finishing one on one, we know about. His accuracy, his ferocity from range, not so much.
Joe Hart never saw that coming and you could pretty much see that from his reaction.
Who cares though, we were in front. 1-0
Few minutes to half time, while City are here licking their wounds, we were giftde and I thought to myself ‘’God bless Mangala’’ for that horrible pass.
The ball was given to Ozil, Ozil to Giroud and the rest is history.
2-0.
That took his assists this season to 15, that’s more than Juan Mata, Steven Gerrard or even Dennis Bergkamp ever managed in a season, and it’s not even Christmas yet.
While we were scoring, Koscielny was doing a good job keeping Aguero at bay, same could be said of Flamini on Yaya Toure, Monreal on KDB, Silva was nowhere to be found.
We seemed pretty much in control and obviously Pellegrini’s decision to play Delph to help Fernadinho mark out Ozil had failed.
Good stuff….
We could have got more but then an Arsenal game is never complete without that little ‘’heart attack’’ teaser for the fans yeah??
You know what I am talking about and yes, we all hate that.
We missed a couple of chances, Ramsey, Campbell, Walcott and the list is endless, I think even Cech missed a chance.lol
With 8 minutes remaining, Yaya scored a joke of a goal. Like, it came out of nowhere.
There it was 2-1 and the panic had started.
Campbell had been taken off, same with Ozil and Walcott for Chamberlain, Callum Shambles Chambers and Gibbs.
We had to keep our head in the game and maintain that lead.
There I was thinking, if only Campbell had hit that ball well or Ramsey had raised his a little higher, bla bla bla…..
We survived and full time it was our victory 2-1.
Mentions to Flamini who was really clinical on the night, still amazes me he hasn’t seen a card in a while.
Meanwhile, did you know Flamini has never lost at the emirates?? Yeah, I was shocked too, maybe we should keep playing him in them home game.
As is becoming the custom, Campbell also deserves a mention as he put in an amazing amount of work today, making those tackles, those runs and all.
That win took us within two points of Leicester and four above City.
Not a bad place to be at Christmas I think.
Just so you know, the last two times we won the league, we were in second place at Christmas.
hmmmmmmm…………
Fill in the gaps yourself.
Am out, do have an amazing day and compliments of the season to all…..
Till later.
Ciao.
