I’m gutted
I ‘m quite unhappy
I really, really wanted Jose Mourinho to stay. I wanted him to stay and suffer defeat after defeat, while I know that Chelsea were never going to be relegated, I have immensely enjoyed this season so far…at least Chelsea’s side of things. Now he’s gone…bummer!
I know a lot of people are happy about it and I can’t pretend that some part of me isn’t ecstatic at the prospect of a Mourinho-less Premier league.
Now I also know that many will assume that it is jealousy that has brought about all this ill will towards the Portuguese manager and maybe there’s some truth in that, but it isn’t only that. Everyone hates Jose really, regardless of the club or country or anything, they just hate his guts and it’s not cos he’s successful.
I mean, Pep Guardiola is successful, Jurgen Klopp is successful, Alex Ferguson is successful even Arsene Wenger is successful and some of this success has engendered hate amongst people and opposition fans and the like, but it’s not wide spread. I mean as an Arsenal fan I have an obligation to not like a Jurgen Klopp as he manages a rival but I find that hard to do. I won’t hate Diego Simeone until he moves to the Premier League, but i’ll dislike Mourinho wherever he is and not just cos he’s been particularly scathing about Arsenal and Arsene, but just because he’s generally a bellend. So that’s that!
On to more Arsenal things. We play Man city on Monday which seems ages away and makes me unhappy, but hey, it is what it is and we play the other team in Manchester with all their money and everything for a chance to be above them. Depending on the other games, it could mean we could be top of the table, but only if Leicester lose to Everton. Everton away cannot be an easy task, we’ll see how they fare though. This Is a game in which I would be firmly on Everton’s side and I back them to defeat Leicester.
Arsene Wenger spoke to the press yesterday and the news is that everyone that played on Sunday will be fit for this game and maybe, just maybe we could have Alexis back. Now previous iterations of Man City scared me so much that there was no way i’d have been happy with Alexis not playing that game and while I won’t say i’m happy if Alexis doesn’t play I am at least open to the idea that he won’t be available and that even in his absence we should be able to handle Man City. This might be a testament to how much better I think the team is or maybe just how bad Man City have been so far.
This is chance for us, after Man City we play a Southampton that haven’t been very good either, I hope we’re up to it. During the week Arsene allowed most of the players a small holiday and I hope they’ve recharged their batteries and Alexis’ injury had kinda given him a winter break so all In all the team should be pretty healthy.
Let’s hope for the best and pray Ozil doesn’t get injured by the prow of a boat hitting him smack in the face or something and maybe we can get a win against Man City which would be pretty awesome.
Till then.
