Apologies for not being able to bring you the newspaper rounds yesterday, our rounds are a tad dependent on our friends at Seriously Football. Forgive.
Away from the depressing stuff splattered across the pages of newspapers around the world, let’s look at football, our respite from all the politically tragical brouhaha.
The Sun reports that old man Diego Costa and Jordan Henderson had a tunnel bust-up after the draw between Chelsea and Liverpool, or as we know them – the Ch*vs and the Sc*!sers…*snicker* The paper doesn’t go into details as to what caused the bust up but then again, it’s The Sun…maybe all that happened was some violent bear hugging.
Now, there’s a bid for Pogba. £40m.
Yes, the Express said it, not me. However, right now, we don’t know what to believe. First, Chelsea were in for Lionel Messi, then they were in for Sergio Ramos, now, they’re in for Pogba? We’ll have to wait till the summer (yes, some transfers start brewing now and crystallize in the summer) to see what turns up at Stamford Bridge.
Star Sport reports that Mancini’s Inter Milan is planning to splash cash for James Milner as the bloke seems to have fallen out of favour with Manuel Pellegrini. Mancini has already done good business with Podolski who got an assist in his first game for the Milan giants.
Chelsea, yes I know, again, are on the prowl for Cuadrado as The Independent reports. However, they might need to offload some players to be able to afford the dude and we hear Mohammed Salah (after just one year) and Andre Schurrle could be the potential victims of this cruel, cruel, fate.
Our dear Arsenal is set to do battle with the FA probably regarding the potential work permit issues our transfer target
Paulinho Paulista might have, Mirror reports. Paulinho Paulista who’s been instrumental in the clean sheets his present team has had, is on Arsenal’s radar and Arsenal will do well to sign him.
By far the best coined headline I’ve seen in weeks “Blind faith in LVG” by The Daily Star reports that Dale Blind of Manchester United has defended LVG’s tactics despite the bickering of Man-United fans.
LVG has chastised the fans for ‘tinkering’ with the clubs tactics and sacrificing Manchester United’s all-out attacking style of play…and I’m sat here wondering how the fans can alter/tinker with the formation while they’re in the stands. LVG, you’re the one doing the tinkering silly!
