We all love the transfer window don’t we? Most of you, hooked on to Online Sportsbook sites, searching, itching to hop on the next transfer rumour, predicting and shii…
That long period between the end of one season and the beginning of another where players and managers alike move from one club to another.
Often characterized by massive transfer rumors (most of which are just to sell newspapers) and periods of speculation where by whatever a player does is given a meaning, the transfer window mostly helps fill the gap before the new season starts.
Well thank God we have the Copa America and Euros to keep us occupied before the season starts. That way we don’t just have to be reading tabloids looking for the latest transfer rumours.
Oh well, back to the transfer window and it’s bants.
For managers out there though it means that period of quandary where they have to make decisions that could potentially decide the outcome of their seasons. Like it or nah, transfers could make or mar your season. Both the ones done and those deals that you passed on.
They have to make decisions such as, which area of my team do I need to strengthen? Which of my on-loan players should I recall to the team?? Which of my current players do I need to sell or send on loan and many more of such decisions.
I can only imagine what is going through Arsene Wenger’s mind right now and through out this summer transfer window as he has to make decisions that could make or mar his final season as Arsenal coach, well except they renew his contract.
For starters, he has to decide what to do with players like Jon Toral (who had a fantastic season on loan at Birmingham last season), Matthew Debuchy and Wojciech Szczesny, to name but a few.
Bring them back, keep them at their current on-loan club for one more season (I know Roma would be desperate to keep Wojie) or sell them and free up that space in the team and also their jersey numbers??.
Secondly, there is the point where he has to decide what to do with those players in the team who were around last season but might not get as much playing time as they would want. Players like Callum Chambers readily come to mind, amidst reports that Watford want him on loan, the gaffer has to decide to loan him or keep him in the team and fast!!
Oh before I forget, there are also those players you have to extend their contracts to ward off interest from other clubs, Bellerin readily comes to mind. We ain’t giving him to you Barcelona, get that in your head?.
Then there are the main transfer targets, yes that includes the Vardy’s, Aubameyang’s, Mkhitaryian (damn, how do they spell his name mehn?, just in case you are confused I’m talking about that guy that plays for Dortmund, yeah him), the one that majorly affects the outcome of the team.
Thank God we moved swiftly and signed Xhaka already. Vardy is making us wait, just imagine?. I’m here like, bruh we have activated your release clause already, just decide mehn. How can he keep the whole Arsenal family waiting? It’s not even fair☹️☹️.
The Euros start tomorrow and we can be sure that any other players we might want to sign who are involved in the Euros or the Copa America could see a massive increase in their transfer fees, well it still depends on how well they play during those competitions though.
Oh well, I do hope Vardy makes that decision real quick, so we can move on to our other targets and sign maybe 2 or 3 more players to help that trophy chase.
Good luck with the signings Mr Wenger.
Only one advise I have for you, shoot your shot??.
You want a player? Go for him, irrespective of the amount and you might just get him.
