About some 48 hours ago, we beat Leicester in their own home 5-2 to end their unbeaten run.
Thanks to an amazing display from Alexis and the team as a whole.
But as much as I would like us to revel in that victory, duty calls again today.
This time, we stay home and our visitors are Olympiacos, the Greek champions.
I still wonder if it’s Olympiacos with a ‘c’ or Olympiakos with a ‘k’, so bear with me if you find both spellings while reading this.
That being said, back to business.
After losing our first UCL game to Dinamo Zagreb, it must be said that this game against Olympiakos is a must win for us.
I know every game is a must win but this one has MUST WIN written in bold letters.
I mean look at it, we lose this one and we could be out of the champions league by November, even if we win its not out of place to say we would play game 5 with just 3 points.
Okay Okay, don’t crucify me yet. It’s not as if I have conceded to defeat against Bayern on match days 3 and 4 respectively, I am just saying that it’s a possibility.
Like it or not, it could happen.
To be honest, if we were away I would be more comfortable about this game.
Olympiacos currently top their league after winning five in five, they have scored 16 and conceded just 3. That is some champion material there innit?? I mean, they won their last game 5-1.
Look at you saying we won ours by 5 goals too, but then we conceded two. That there is the difference.
Arsenal currently sit in fourth place and it is worth mentioning that three of our four wins have been away from home. See why I said I would have preferred if we were away??
Regardless of where it is played though, we are still expected to we win.
Sadly for us though, we might be a little short in the midfield with Arteta and Flamini both out.
On the bright side though, Coquelin has been training with the team since Sunday and might just be available for this one.
With Alexis back to finding the net, we can be sure there would be goals, let’s just believe we would score enough to give us the 3 points.
The last time we played them at home, we nailed it 3-1, thanks to Gervinho, Podolski and Ramsey goals.
We can expect a strong side for this one with Wenger himself admitting that it is a must win game.
At the end of today, I want to believe the 3 points would remain at the Emirates and not go to Greece.
Olympiakos have never won us at home, I believe that would not start today.
A draw is not even on the menu.
See you….
