I know there is a post on this already but it just shows how glad we are…
The wait is finally over people.
We slept, woke up, waited, anticipated, got anxious, thought we would not see this day but a glad to announce to you that it has finally come.
Cech is finally one of us, red and white in his bloods people. You would just know he has always loved us, I mean I saw his open letter and he dint even reckon Mourinho in it sef. He mentioned abramovich but no Mourinho. EeyahL
Cech completed his medical on Friday last week but then Arsenal just had to tension us a little and not announce this deal till Monday.
Arsene Wenger who has wanted to sign the Czech shot-stopper since 2003 told the clubs official website that he was ‘very pleased’ to have signed ‘one of the outstanding keepers in the world.’
‘Petr Cech is a player that I have admired for a long time and I am very pleased that he has decided to join us,’ said Wenger. ‘He has proven over many years that he is one of the outstanding keepers in the world and he will add great strength to our squad’.
Cech explained that it was Wenger’s ambition and the promise of first team football that attracted him.
‘When Arsene Wenger spoke to me about his ambitions and how he saw me as part of this team, the decision was clear.’
Arsenal players have already started expressing their delight with the move via their twitter accounts.
Walcott said: Scored my first ever Arsenal goal against him – delighted to welcome @petrcech to @arsenal #WelcomeCech’, with Ramsey adding: ‘Wow what a signing! One of the best @premierleague keepers ever! Welcome @petrcech’.
The former Chelsea goalie also posted a message for his previous club’s fans, saying he ‘thought this would never happen’.
He asked the club’s fans to ‘remember our history’ when he comes up against them as an Arsenal player.
Chelsea captain John Terry all but confirmed the move last week when he said Cech could win us ’10 to 15 points’ next season and Mourinho also fears it will strengthen his rivals next season.
Sorry Mou, we got this one.
Trust me, we have all waited for this one and it sure was taking too long.
Cech is believed to have signed a four-year contract understood to be worth about £100,000 a week and could make his debut against his former club on August 2 in the community shield.
So that’s Cech done people, now for the Vidal drama…
