And the story continues with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
If you watch the video above, you’d see why I’d rather keep him than Özil.
In his correspondence with Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher said:
“It’s not easy to find goal scorers. I’d keep Aubameyang and see what you could do. Could you bring players in around that and maybe in the next 12 months convince him to stay? If not, I still think it gives Arsenal a greater chance of getting back into the top four”
And rightly so, Jamie Carragher has said that Aubameyang is too good for Arsenal at the moment. It’s like when Liverpool had Luis Suarez, obviously, he was too good for them then.
Aubamayang has scored over 40% of Arsenal’s goals for two seasons straight. We’ve never had such a prolific striker since Thierry Henry and, maybe Robin Van Persie.

It’s no easy task for a big club to come back from a slump, we have Liverpool and Manchester United as case studies. Some clubs never rise from the ashes though; I’m looking at you, Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers.
The club’s head of football Raul Sanllehi and managing director Vinai Venkatesham have said, according to Sky News that the club would not let players run down their contracts. Although, this seems to be happening with Mesut Ozil, Bukayo Saka, and, now Aubameyang.
Looking at Arsenal’s future though, I have cause to hope. Liverpool might have thought they’d never be able to compete for the title after losing Luis Suarez. Well, look at them now, crushing players’ spirits on the pitch.
Arsenal can rise from the loss of Aubameyang if he’s hell-bent on leaving. We’ll just have to be patient with Arteta and build with him.
