It’s been crunch time in the English Premier League 2 games in less than 72 hours, players feeling lethargic and bosses feeling exasperated. Here’s seriously Football’s team of the week.
In Goal…
Hugo Lloris has beaten Dea Gea to take top spot for his exploits against Manchester United as Tottenham faced quite an onslaught yesterday. Spurs held Manchester United to a nil draw.
In Defence…
Alan Hutton was sturdy in defence as Aston Villa drew with Sunderland while Phil Jones kept a clean sheet for Manchester United as they faced the lot down the road.
Wes Morgan helped Leicester to their first win in 14 games as they kept a clean sheet in their win against Hull. Matt Target was also sturdy in defence for Southampton as they drew with League leaders Chelsea.
In Midfield…
Riyad Mahrez helped Leicester to their first win in 14 games as he scored the only goal of the game. Spanish magician David Silva scored his 4th goal in 3 games for Manchester City as they drew with Burnley while his teammate Fernandinho scored a cracker, no jokes! The goal post quivered with fear. That. was. an. atomic. bomb.
And Eden Hazard scored in Chelsea’s draw with Southampton.
In Attack…
Our very own Welbz is in the team of the week as he scored to put us ahead in the game against West Ham while Mame Diouf got both goals for Stoke in their win against West Brom.
