The transfer market is open and the rumour mill is in overdrive. All over Europe clubs will be targeting players they hope will help them kick on to the next level and Arsenal are no different as the Gunners attempt to reinforce their front line over the coming weeks in an attempt to battle it out for the title next term. Despite netting 71 goals in the Premier League this season, that tally was still 12 shy of second place finishers Manchester City and many of the Gunners strikers seem to suffer annual inconsistent patches/injuries that have derailed past challenges.
A common observation leveled at Arsene Wenger’s side is that the club lack the presence of a real top draw striker, which is why this summer the scouts will be out in full force looking for potential gems. With many football news and odds sites like Bethut predicting that Arsenal could be credible contenders next season, let’s take a quick look at just some of the strikers being linked with a move to the Emirates.
JACKSON MARTINEZ
Colombian forward Jackson Martinez has already been linked to Arsenal and news that the 28 year old is looking to leave his current team, Portuguese club Porto, was music to many clubs’ ears. Martinez ended the season as top goal scorer in his league and is already attracting attention from a Europe’s elite, It now appears that Arsenal are preparing a bid in an attempt to lure him to North London.
EDINSON CAVANI
Juventus, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all vying for Uruguayan striker’s signature after rumours emerged that he will be leaving his current club Paris Saint-Germain over the summer. Could a possible move to the Gunners be the change that Cavani needs in order to get back to his striking best?

GONZALO HIGUAIN
Napoli star Gonzalo Higuain is demanding a £37 million move to the Premier League. According to reports the Argentine says he’s interested in a move to Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal. Wenger has always been an admirer of the forward and if he was to opt to move to the Emirates at the expense of other big clubs then it could be regarded as quite a coup.
CHRISTIAN BENTEKE
There have been a lot of mixed reports coming from Benteke’s camp over the last few weeks regarding his footballing future at Villa. He’s already being targeted by other top flight clubs including Liverpool but he wants Champions League football and it is likely that if Arsenal made a serious bid for the striker then he could be persuaded.
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE
Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette finished as Ligue 1’s top scorer last season. The 24 year old is set for a move away from France with Arsenal being the most likely destination and, if this rumour is to be believed, a deal could be completed by the end of June. Lacazette has already stated that he will only leave Lyon for a team that will be involved in Champions League football next season, which of course the Gunners are.
