This transfer window has been weird, very weird.
Rooney’s the new manager of Manchester Roo-nited and he had appointed David Moyes as his assistant. Oh, and he even signed Juan Mata some days ago. He is at the moment checking his transfer short-list while waiting to see the surgeon for another hair transplant.
And that Draxler story.
“Draxler for Sale! Last Chance! Buy One, Get One Mandzukic Free”
We’ll soon be seeing that on a free ads site, you know, that place where you can place your free ads.
Whatever.
Let’s leave that to the boss, hopefully, we’ll be fine with or without a new signing.
Now, our game against Southampton.
Arsenal FC v Southampton FC
We travel to St. Mary’s with 5 wins in 5 games. We’ve got 43 goals scored and 19 goals conceded on our stat. books. Oh, and add an 86% pass accuracy for those of you in love with stats.
On the other hand, Southampton have had 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw in their last 5 games. And all you need to know about the other stats is that they’ve got everything less than us – goals, accuracy, passes…they’ve conceded more goals than we have though, it’s just logical.
Now, this doesn’t mean we can seat back, relax, and sip on fine blend tea. We’re playing away, they’re playing at home, anything can happen.
Say what? Anything can happen… Wyclef Jean and stuff.#
Who Should Be Playing?
I personally think Carzola plays better in the middle and not on the wings however, I have my doubts about Wenger starting Podolski.
We’re a bit spoilt for choice in the midfield and, with my limited football manager skills, I’m wondering if Carzola can play a false 9 like Mata can? It might alter our usual tactics but there’s no harm experimenting, variety they say, is the spice of life. #formationdreaming.
Gnabry has impressed me. Not because of his balloon shots; no, those make me want to smack him up his pretty German head.
I have instead been impressed by his speed and strength on the ball. He fights for the ball and he’s not going to let you pull him down easily.
Maybe this is what the section of fans calling Ozil lazy want to see. There are no two identical players pals; sorry to burst yer bubble.
We’re expecting to see Ramsey back with Flamini bossing our half of the field alongside our ever dependable defensive duo – Per and Koscielny. I’d like to see Monreal start though, he’s worked hard for the team and deserves a start, plus Southampton are not speed merchants like Liverpool or Chelsea, so I guess it’s okay to pit him against our slower opponents.
Arsenal’s Star Players: Carzola, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Ozil and Sagna

Southampton’s Star Players: Jose Fonte, Lallana, Rodrguez and Schneiderlin are the players to watch out for.

In other news, Puma has signed a 5 year sponsorship deal with the Arsenal worth about £150m. We hope, pray and beg that the money would be used in the summer. Not all of it though, most of it.
And then, there’s that heartbreaking news of the Chavs reaching an oral agreement with Diego Costa; like they hadn’t ‘gazumped’ us enough! We’ve barely gotten over Juan Mata!
I beg Arsene not to dither on targets but to tie up deals quickly this summer. A striker, not a Yaya Sanogo, a top or nearly top striker and an RB would do for me. I think our midfield is versatile enough not to need a winger desperately.
Can Arsenal stay top this week? I believe so.
Here’s to a win at St. Mary’s! Ahooo!!!
