The fan base is in an uproar.
A section of Arsenal fans call for Granit Xhaka’s head and another section wishes this bad dream we could all wake up from.
Arsenal fans booed their club captain – Granit Xhaka – during the team’s match against Crystal Palace. The player didn’t play well as if often the case these days. Or, worse still, he’s under-utilised by Unai Emery.
Unai Emery has reported that the player – Xhaka- is devastated:
Emery said: “It’s not easy for him and for the team. He is now devastated, sad. We spoke yesterday and Sunday night and this morning.
“He trained normally with the group but he is devastated. He is sad about that situation.
“His commitment is great every time. He wants to help. His behaviour was perfect in training, with the group and club. Really he knows he was wrong.
“He feels inside, very deep. It’s normal as a human. Every player needs the supporters’ support. – Football.London
It’s left to be seen what disciplinary action will be taken against Xhaka. I am however of the opinion that Gooners should NEVER boo or be abusive towards the players. It affects the morale of not just that player but of every player. I say this because the players probably think they’d be next in line for fan vitriol once there’s a patch of bad form.
